What does this mean?

If you are an individual or part of an amateur, non-commercial and/or educational MOD team or project using any material downloaded from KatsBits (with the exception of scripts and other third party content), then it's usually OK to distribute the files within your project so long as authorship attribution and origination is clearly stated, which is the traditional approach to using someone else's material in your own projects - a 'readme' file would typica;;y contain a list of links and/or information with regards to the source or origin of any material used not authored by the projects participants. This also serves an additional purpose of avoiding the hassle and worry associated with someone thinking content was 'stolen' or 'leached' when that is in fact not the case. Modification of material is usually OK within the context of your MOD or project, again so long as attribution (origin/authorship) is stated. For specific requests and or information about this, get in touch.

What the above does not allow is the '(re)package' of material in any way for re-sale, and/or placement of material anywhere such that it's use directly or indirectly generates revenue of any kind without express permission to do so. What does this mean?

If you were wanting to post information from a KatsBits tutorial in a forum topic for example, generally speaking only the pertinent sections need be quoted; posting an entire multi-page article is not necessary and goes against the general spirit upon which the material is provided, especially if the originating source is easily accessible and readily available. The same would also be true of posting material from KatsBits to a third-party web site as an 'article' or other form of 'content'. Again only a short quote or section need be used for which a link should be provided back to the original source. If you do post something from KatsBits elsewhere you should endeavour to clearly state where the information came from, with a link back to the original - this is for your protection as much as it is KatsBits, without clearly stating source it's easy to be accused of stealing. Similarly, images should retain any watermarks present and not be hosted.

What the above does not allow is any type of commercial exploitation without prior written consent from the Author, Publisher or Right holder. This means that any forms of 'posting' and 'harvesting' information and data associated with KatsBits is not permitted.
