Problem
There's an issue presenting itself when using the M-Audio M-Track Solo or M-Track Duo USB audio interfaces on computers installed with Windows 11 - the issue wasn't/isn't present for Windows 10 installations - where when listening to audio from any source, online or local video or audio playback using any media player or application, DAW recording and playback etc., static noise, pops or clicks can be intermittently heard. Changing 'bit rate' in Windows 11 Sound Settings, swapping out cables, switching USB ports, installing M-Audio or ASIO drivers do not fix the issue.

Solution
At time of writing the only solution that works to prevent audio interference or noise, is the complete removal of the M-Audio drivers, forcing Windows 11 to use native WHQL 'signed' drivers. This is obviously not ideal as it means the OS reduces sound to 16 bit, the native rate for the OS. While this might be overridden locally in app, quality issues may be encountered.

Important caveat: removing the M-Audio M-Track drivers may not solve the problem outright as some interference or noise may still be experienced, albeit to a much lesser degree. This is potentially indicative of a fundamental problem with Windows 11, and/or the M-Track drivers for the operating system, and not the USB audio interface itself (else similar issues would be evidenced under Windows 10 and/or on MacOS).

Bottom line: seek alternative hardware, or devices specifically designed around Windows 11.

Alternative 'bug-bounty' email scam originating from a random email address associated with the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) - *@mail.ustc.edu.cn. Message is worded to create alarm and a sense of urgency, hijacking security concerns over potential SSL certificate authority and/or misconfigurations. Message includes a *.txt attachment titled "misconfiguration_details.txt".

Hi Admin,

Our research team at USTC recently conducted a large-scale scan of certificate configurations in July 2025. During our analysis, We identified a potential misconfiguration for a service associated with your domain. This issue could compromise the security and trustworthiness of your services and (or) your customers.

The attached file contains the details of all misconfigured services we found. We recommend you review and resolve these issues as soon as possible.

**Next Steps**

The fields in the attachment provide the technical information needed to diagnose the problem. We recommend the following actions:
