Description: tips on using
Vertex Painting, that is painting colours to a meshes structure (
not to be confused with Weight Painting), and how they can be used to augment rooms and items where texturing may prove less desirable, for example assigning a 'cloud' texture to a mesh doesn't always work because the tonal variation of a relatively small image mapped to a large object may result in 'alignment' issues - dark areas appearing where there should be highlights. A simple way to solve these sorts of problem is to use vertex painting to colour or tint the underlying mesh, relying on a single colour image as the 'texture map' through which vertex colours can be seen (blended).
