Enhancing Normal maps generated from Images

Normal maps generated from images or photos tend to be a bit lackluster due to the way the image conversion process works, especially for surfaces like rock and other organic forms. This doesn't need to be the case however, using an image-editor Normal maps can be enhanced through simple layers, blurring and blending.
