Should pay more attention to what forum im in before posting.
Terrain from height map is so old now that I cant see how anyone gets away with it still. I think interesting outdoor environments like this could still be created easily with the right tool set, the artist really only need to lay out the general structure of the terrain. Because of the nature of nature

a bit of random chaos usual just makes it look more real.
Now I have finaly finished my degree and my time is my own once again

perhaps this is a good reason to pick up the old procedural generation project again.
