Why is this happening?Recently had to take action against disproportionately huge bandwidth consumption, some 95% recently, originating from China or Chinese VPNs and proxies (so much, yet again, for The Great FireWall of China(TM)). The only way to mitigate this is to block China, the entire region entirely, which may inadvertently catch legitimate visitors being in the net.
In a nut shell, bots, indexers and AI 'training' scripts and tools are scraping KatsBits for content and in doing so occupying a significant amount of bandwidth and resources that could be better used on legitimate creatives accessing the site. The only way to prevent this is to completely hard block China, Chinese connections, and the region in general, which potentially also encompasses other areas that are often go-betweens for Chinese bad actors using proxies and VPNs.
