Aggression from video games 'linked to incompetence' (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-26921743). The basic premise of the study (linked below) is that a games difficulty appears to have a far greater impact on immediate aggression than violent content. Essentially the research highlights the complexities of human behavior and responses, it's not quite as black and white the media and politicians would have us believe.
