Title: How To import one blender drawing into another blender file???
Post by: ACDmvmkr on April 27, 2012, 05:44:36 AM
A rather simple question but one I haven't been able to find thru search....

If I've made a drawing/creation in one blender file, can I load up, or import the contents of that
first blender file into another blender file?

ex - say I've created a person in one blender file, and a car in another blender file, can I import
that person to place him inside the car of the other blender file?

thx, Dave

in theory yes, by using file menu > append or the shift f1 keys.

To expand slightly on what Ratty said, yes you use the "Append" menu option. It opens a file browser where you'll see a number of 'content types', depending on what you want to do, click "Object" which will open the data list for that content type. Simply LMB click the items you want (+shift for multiple) and then click "Append" top-right. The selected items will then be loaded into the current scene.
