Title: Behind the scenes tweaking
Post by: kat on April 19, 2010, 01:24:28 PM
The site's undergoing some background tweaking, if you see anything squiffy going on then that's the reason. That or gremlins are at play again.

Done. May be a few spots missing here and there but everything should be working the way it should. I basically had to switch everything over to *.php instead of *.htm because the way the site is built so that It can pull in different info into a single page; using a CMS would have been better but not on an old site without causing some serious disruption to usability of the site.

There are a couple of hiccups, down to typos for the most part - but then I was re-organising a site that has almost 250 pages of static html. I needed to swap the organisation of the site around so it made more 'logical sense' relative to any future plans I've got in the works, that meant doing what's called a 301 redirect on the entire site so everything pointed to where it should be within the new structure (you might notice this as you look at the URL's). Needless to say it's taken the best part of a week to sort out and I still had mistakes in the files despite being careful!

understood and will you be able to fix the remaining bugs?
