This is one of those "you could not make this up" items. The German Government appear to have anointed a former Stazi informant (according to Berliner-Zeitung she was never officially employed by the Stazi, rather she was used as an informant) to head a Facebook watchdog looking out for "xenophobic" comments (it's important to note here that this is the government approving a quasi-private organisation the role of watchdog, it is not the German Government itself authorising this Org to act on it's behalf). Although this news is not specifically about Facebook itself monitoring comments, the implication are that for German Citizens, in order for this new outfit, the Network Against Nazis (Netz Gegen Nazis, or NAN), to catch this supposed "bad speak", all comments will have to be monitored. An English write-up on this can be found on Breitbart. Not sure which is worse in this instance; Government monitoring everything to catching something, or the fact that a forum Stazi agent is part of the scheme (and yes we can all change, but the individuals career path looks to have put those formative years of working experience to good use).
