kat, i vaguely remember us talking about the properties panel in previous versions of blender showing info on selected verts, like the weights, crease amounts. i currently don't have any pre 2.7x versions installed and i can't find where that info is now. is it still in what ever version you have?
-
Assuming a selection has been weighted its properties should appear in the "Transform/View" panel overlay ("N") in the 3D View.

thanks kat, i can now confirm that is still in 2.71 ...does that panel also display the crease amount in the version you're using?

Once an edge has been marked in Edit mode ("Ctrl+E" to bring up the 'Edges' menu) the Crease value can be changed from "Transform" properties ("N"). Crease marking can also be ignored once marked. In Object mode deselecting "Store Edge Crease" in "Object Data" properties (under the "Geometry Data" sub-section)
