Title: Flash crippling browsers?
Post by: kat on December 29, 2010, 09:36:22 PM
I've noticed recently (last 12 months or so) that Flash content seems to be completely crippling browsers when it's loading content. Seems to happen irrespective of Browser (although Internet Explorer seems to be the worst offender here). Anyone else having or noticing browser hangs on Flash based web sites?

yes, ranging from youtube not stopping dl of .flv or .mp4 files to temp internet folders in vista when a video page has been closed down, to blue screens and vista needing a restart. plus after every flash update it will take up to a few days for some of the videos on youtube and other sites to display in hd.

I can't say for sure, but this all seems to have started for me around the time the began requiring a system reboot for v10's proper install. I don't remember v9 needing that (but could be wrong).

could be, as you say it used to be more stable, and tbh i've not noticed many improvements with the new versions but we don't seem to have an option to keep a specific version do we?
