Title: blender grease pencil can now draw on object surfaces

I wonder what uses we could have for this new tool in blender 2.5, any ideas guys?

I've seen this before but never quite understood what it was for, that vid cleared that up! And yes, can definitely see how being able to scribble in open scenes would help in collaborative environments. I wonder if there is a way to attach proper notes to what you draw so you mark out an area and then type a note into a window panel overlay or something? Interesting nonetheless.

now if only mesh data could be generated from the pencil drawings :)

@ milk, there is blender's retopo tool, but I personally haven't have much success with its pen or line modes. I too was wondering if the grease pencil could be used in the work flow of mesh modeling.
