Title: Load custom ASE models into Quake Wars EditWorld

Steps for loading (custom) models
Create a project folder (within the SDK/Tools directory)
Place ASE model in that newly created folder
Edit ASE to apply material/texture references (https://www.katsbits.com/smforum/index.php?topic=710.0) (there have been some subtle change so read carefully)
Open Quake Wars EditWorld
Right Click 2D grid view
Select ".. load model.. " at the top of the pop up
Browse to location of model in your project folder
Select and the click 'open'
Model will then appear in 2D viewport window as well as be visible textured in the camera view. If the model has incorrect or missing material/texture references it will appear with the black and red checker pattern as show in the video above.
