In the &#8216;installation&#8217; window that appears drag <b>blender.app<\/b> into the <b>Applications<\/b> folder where it will then be available for use once installed. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Design note<\/b>: some additional notes to be aware of when wanting to install Blender 3D on a MacBook, MacPro etc.;<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"about-this-mac\"><\/span>About This Mac<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>A quick way to check for compatibility is to look at the <strong>About This Mac<\/strong> information panel. To view this, click the <strong>Apple<\/strong> icon upper-left, then on <strong>About This Mac<\/strong> &#8211; <strong><em>Apple \u00bb About This Mac<\/em><\/strong>. In the panel that appears basic information will be shown that can be used to check whether Blender will run. <\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, to find out which Mac &#8216;version&#8217; is being used, Intel or Arm, in detail, click the <b>Apple<\/b> icon upper-left and in <b>System Settings&#8230;<\/b> check <b>General \u00bb About<\/b> and what&#8217;s listed under <b>Processor<\/b>; if &#8216;Intel&#8217; download the &#8216;Intel&#8217; version of Blender, if &#8216;ARM&#8217;\/&#8217;Silicon&#8217; download the &#8216;Apple Silicon&#8217; version. Both install the same way but are tailored to each environment.<\/i><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"authorised\"><\/span>Authorised<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>As Blender is not available from Apple App Store it has to be downloaded directly from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blender.org\/download\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Blender.org<\/a>. As a result installation may present a number of &#8216;security&#8217; or &#8216;privilege&#8217; warnings that require confirmation using the Macbook&#8217;s Admin account password (this should be the main user).<\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"quick-setup\"><\/span>Quick Setup<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>When starting Blender for the first time the <b>Quick Setup<\/b> overlay will be shown where the User can set the <b>Select With<\/b> option, that is object selection using the <b>Left<\/b> or <b>Right<\/b> mouse button (3 button mouse recommended for use with Blender).
