For <b>FBX<\/b> files, once a base product has been derived, this can be done clicking the &#8216;hamburger&#8217; icon upper-left [1] of the open project\/product editor, then on <b>File<\/b>, <b>Import FBX<\/b> [2] &#8211; <b>\u039e \u00bb File \u00bb Import FBX<\/b>. This opens the standard file browser (titled <b>Import FBX&#8230;<\/b>) where an FBX file can be selected and loaded clicking <b>Open<\/b> bottom-right.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/imvu-fbx\/fbx-import-menu.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/imvu-fbx\/fbx-import-menu.jpg\" alt=\"Importing and FBX into IMVU Studio\" width=\"900px\" height=\"500px\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<i>IMVU Studio can import files a number of ways. To import an FBX click the &#8216;hamburger&#8217; icon [1] then select <b>File<\/b>, <b>Import FBX<\/b> [2]. Browse to and select an FBX then click <b>Open<\/b> to begin the import and conversion process.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/imvu-fbx\/imvu-studio-import-fbx-button.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/imvu-fbx\/imvu-studio-import-fbx-button.jpg\" alt=\"Quick-access button for importing FBX\" width=\"900px\" height=\"500px\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<i>IMVU Studio also provides a &#8216;quick access&#8217; button [3] with an Import FBX [4] option. Clicking this initiates the same process as using the File menu option.<\/i><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Design note<\/b>: once an FBX is loaded the first of several <b>FBX Import Settings<\/b> &#8216;screens&#8217; appears, initially an overview of the FBX and its discoverable contents. Next will be screens to check each component separately; Skeleton &#038; Mesh, Material, Animation then finally Review and Import. When using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/codex\/imvu-starter-files\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">IMVU Starter Files for Blender<\/a>, in Skeleton &#038; Mesh be sure to set <b>Scale<\/b> to <b>0.01<\/b> [5] (from 1.0) and click the &#8216;skeleton&#8217; drop down to select the correct skeleton from the list [6].
