In this exercise we modify the previously created <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/codex\/magicbook\/\">stack of magic books<\/a> by taking a look at two ways furniture items can be animated; using <i>nodes<\/i> or using a <i>skeleton<\/i> (an <i>Armature<\/i> in Blender). Suitable for beginners.<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"background-color: #ddecf3; color: #000;\"><p><b>Download<\/b>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/codex\/imvu-starter-files\/#download\">click here for the Accessory, Furniture and Pose Start Files<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the <a href=\"#video4\"><b>first video<\/b><\/a> above (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/codex\/tag\/magic-book\/\"><i>fourth in the series<\/i><\/a>) we continue working on the magic book stack furniture item by adding a simple <b>Node<\/b>-based animation. Here a book is duplicated and paired with a control node then animated in the <b>Action Editor<\/b>. Everything is exported to a single FBX and once imported into IMVU, the final step is to use the <b>Actions<\/b> editor in Create Mode to set up an <b>Ensemble<\/b> to trigger automatically when the item is used.<\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"#video5\"><b>second video<\/b><\/a> above (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/codex\/tag\/magic-book\/\"><i>fifth in the series<\/i><\/a>) we take a look at animating the book stack using an <b>Armature<\/b>. A few more books are first duplicated then the Armature is added and edited to have a <b>Bone<\/b> for each book. This is then animated in the <b>Action Editor<\/b> and finally exported as an FBX before assembly using the <b>Actions<\/b> editor in IMVU. Also included is discussion of <b>Frame Rate<\/b> (how fast), <b>Frame Range<\/b> (how long) and <b>Interpolation<\/b> (how smoothly).<\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"#video6\"><b>third video<\/b><\/a> above (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/codex\/tag\/magic-book\/\"><i>sixth in the series<\/i><\/a>), with a functional animation in place its possible to include seat spots to accommodate the avatars, first as a standard spot then a custom with an accompanying custom avatar pose.
