Here the distance values can be set to accommodate larger or smaller working environments that can otherwise cause the view to clip when too far away from, or too close to, the object of focus.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Design note<\/b>: view (camera) clipping is ostensibly a real-time rendering optimisation that places a hard limit on the amount of scene data the system renders; beyond a certain point, the <b>clip plain<\/b>, nothing is shown, which reduces overheads often associated with processing and rendering everything that might otherwise be shown unnecessarily. 3D View scene clip differs from Camera object clipping (set in Object Data Properties when individual Camera entities are selected).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/clip\/clipped-view.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/clip\/clipped-view.jpg\" alt=\"The contents of a scene appearing to be clipped\" width=\"900px\" height=\"500px\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<i>Blender scene scaling, the size objects appear in relation to the view, it relatively small and can mean some content clipping when too big or too small. Use the <b>Sidebar<\/b> settings to fix this.<\/i><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"clip-settings\"><\/span>Clip Settings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The cameras clip distances for the 3D View, the <i>start<\/i> (how close) and <i>end<\/i> (how far) points, are set in the <b>Sidebar<\/b>, accessed from the <b>View<\/b> menu upper-left. To access select <b>View<\/b> then <b>Sidebar<\/b> &#8211; <i><b>View \u00bb Sidebar<\/b><\/i> &#8211; or use the <span class=\"shortcutkey\">N<\/span> shortcut key (toggles the Sidebar hidden\/visible).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Design note<\/b>: the <b>Sidebar<\/b> is essentially the (View \u00bb) <b>Properties<\/b> toolbar.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/clip\/view-sidebar.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; Properties is now Sidebar.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/clip\/sidebar.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/clip\/sidebar.jpg\" alt=\"The Sidebar opens as an overlay of the 3D View\" width=\"900px\" height=\"500px\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<i>The 3D View <b>Sidebar<\/b> (formally Properties) opens with the last used tab shown (defaults to <b>Item<\/b> when accessed for the first time).<\/i><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"clip-startend\"><\/span>Clip Start\/End<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>With the Sidebar open, to adjust the views camera settings click the <b>View<\/b> tab, and in the <b>View<\/b> subsection, adjust <b>Clip Start<\/b> (default <b>0.1m<\/b>) to change how close objects can be to the camera before rendering is clipped, and <b>End<\/b> (default <b>1000m<\/b>) to modify how distant the far plain is before clipping the scene and object within.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Design note<\/b>: if <b>Clip Start<\/b> is set too low objects can appear inverted because the inside meshes may be visible &#8211;
