Next, click the <b>Viewport Overlays<\/b> options button (the &#8216;v&#8217; arrow) to access the <b>Viewport Overlays<\/b> menu [1]. Towards to bottom of the list is the <b>Measurement<\/b> section with four options [2];<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Edge Length<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Edge Angle<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Face Area<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Face Angle<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To show each information type click the <i>checkbox<\/i> associated with the individual options to enable or disable (if enabled) the display of one, a combination, or all measurement information [3] based on the element or elements selected.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Design note<\/b>: display is selection based so measurement information, the actual text and numbers, only appears when mesh elements are selected [3], vertex, edge and\/or face, allowing the feature to remain active without dominating the Scene with alphanumeric characters (which may unduly affect Blenders performance).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/measurement\/measurement-display.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/measurement\/measurement-display.jpg\" alt=\"Measurement options can be set in the Viewport Overlays menu\" width=\"900px\" height=\"500px\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<i>To access Measurement information click the button for the <b>Viewport Overlays<\/b> options [1] and then set any one, or combination thereof, of &#8216;length&#8217;, &#8216;angle&#8217; and &#8216;area&#8217; [2]. Display is selection based, <b>Edit Mode<\/b> [3].<\/i><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"multi-object-editing\"><\/span>Multi-object Editing<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Because Measurement is relative to <b>Edit Mode<\/b> its available when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/codex\/multi-object-editing\/\"><i>editing multiple objects<\/i><\/a> at the same time (multi-object editing). To do this, make a selection in <b>Object Mode<\/b> that contains several objects then switch to <b>Edit Mode<\/b> &#8211; all selected objects, despite being separate, will become editable. With Measurement options set, the appropriate information will be shown when a particular element selection is made, vertex, edge and\/or face. If not, enable per the above instruction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/measurement\/multi-object-measurement.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/measurement\/multi-object-measurement.jpg\" alt=\"Measurement information displays when multi-object editing\" width=\"900px\" height=\"500px\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<i>With <b>Measurement<\/b> information being a feature of Edit Mode it is available when editing multiple objects at the same time &#8211; multi-object editing.
