This does mean however, they are pose-less by default, they are just the mesh\/object. When wanting to include a pose, rather than using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/codex\/tag\/accessory\/\">Attachment Tool<\/a>, two other tools need to be used instead; the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/codex\/tag\/clothing\/\">Clothing Tool<\/a> and the Animation Tool. As a result, the avatars skeletal structure isn&#8217;t being used to make accessory&#8217;s directly so there&#8217;s nothing to pose &#8211; the &#8216;skeleton&#8217; visible in the Toolkit is a proxy, it replicates the avatars skeletal structure for the purposes of constructing and positioning meshes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/imvu-studio\/posed-attachments-skeleton.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 98.5%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/imvu-studio\/posed-attachments-skeleton.jpg\" alt=\"Accessory Skeleton\" width=\"900px\" height=\"500px\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<i>The Accessory\/Attachment skeleton is a proxy that replicates the avatar. To ensure this works correctly, first, in Edit Mode the entire mesh must be selected (<span class=\"shortcutkey\">A<\/span>) &#8211; all vertices should highlight [3] &#8211;  after which, in <strong>Object Data Properties<\/strong>, create a new entry in <strong>Vertex Groups<\/strong> [4] &#8211; click the <strong>+<\/strong> button &#8211; and rename so its the same as the bone associated with the group, i.e. <strong>rtHand<\/strong>, <strong>lfFoot<\/strong> etc.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #fc0; color: #000; width: 98.5%; padding: 1.0em;\"><strong>Important<\/strong>: names are <strong>cAse SEnsItIve<\/strong>, <strong><em>Rthand<\/em><\/strong> is not the same as <strong><em>rtHand<\/em><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<p>Second, add an <strong>Armature Modifier<\/strong>; Switch out of Edit Mode back into Object Mode and in Modifier Properties, click <strong>+ Add Modifier<\/strong>, <strong>Deform<\/strong>, then <strong>Armature<\/strong> &#8211; <em><strong>+ Add Modifier \u00bb Deform \u00bb Armature<\/strong><\/em>. In the panel that appears set <strong>Clothing_Avatar_Armature<\/strong> as the <strong>Object<\/strong>. Once both the group(s) and Armature are set, moving the avatar skeleton in Pose Mode also moves the mesh.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/imvu-studio\/posed-attachments-vertex-groups.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 98.5%; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.katsbits.com\/images\/tutorials\/imvu-studio\/posed-attachments-vertex-groups.jpg\" alt=\"Vertex Groups\" width=\"900px\" height=\"500px\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<i>Vertex Groups [3] are crucial to ensure Posed Accessory items work correctly in IMVU because they &#8216;tag&#8217; a corresponding bone [4], without this meshes won&#8217;t move and\/or will appear in the wrong place.<\/i><\/p>\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"clothing-derivation\"><\/span>Clothing Derivation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Because a Posed Accessory is essentially a clothing item, any non-accessory base derivable can be used, typically any one of the base <strong>empty clothing items<\/strong>, i.e. <strong>Empty Female Top<\/strong> [5] for female avatar products, or <strong>Empty Male Top<\/strong> for male products.
